On the evening of July 28th, Spider-Man: Brand New Day , starring Tom Holland, had an early screening for Vietnamese audiences before its official release on July 31st.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is Tom Holland's fourth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film is set four years after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), when Peter Parker has been erased from everyone's memory.

Vietnamese audiences are going crazy for Spider-Man.

Immediately after the early screening, many posts praising the new Spider-Man film appeared on social media.

Audiences believe the film offers a different approach to Tom Holland's Spider-Man, focusing more on Peter Parker's personal life, loss, and coming-of-age journey.

In the new film, Peter Parker continues his mission to protect New York, but without the support of those who were once most important to him. After his decision to sacrifice himself in Spider-Man: No Way Home , he must live in a world where people still know Spider-Man, but no longer know who Peter Parker is.

This is also a point that many viewers appreciate, as the film brings the character back to a more relatable heroic image.

Peter Parker not only battles new enemies but also confronts feelings of disorientation, loneliness, and questions about the meaning of being Spider-Man.

The action sequences were the most talked-about aspect. Fans praised the large-scale fight scenes rather than relying too heavily on special effects. In particular, the confrontation between Spider-Man and Hulk was a hit with audiences because it was so visually stunning.

The new villain is also a major draw. This character is said to possess immense power and pose a new challenge for Peter Parker, as the threat comes not only from physical combat but also from mental and cognitive issues.

" Spider-Man: Brand New Day is outstanding, probably one of the best Spider-Man movies ever"; "A true transformation of Spider-Man, in terms of psychology, strength, and appearance"; "Looking for a 10/10 Spider-Man movie? Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the answer"... - some reviews.

Tom Holland delivers a Spider-Man with great depth.

Besides positive audience reactions, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has also received many favorable reviews from international critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film currently has a 90% rating from critics after more than 70 reviews have been updated.

This is a high rating for a superhero film, though slightly lower than Tom Holland's previous three films.

Screen Daily critic Tim Grierson commented: " Spider-Man: Brand New Day is an exciting adventure in which Tom Holland portrays a Peter Parker with unprecedented depth and maturity."

He argued that the film reasonably explores the consequences of Peter Parker's decision in the previous installment, when the character had to live with being separated from those closest to him.

David Rooney of The Hollywood Reporter also praised the film's focus on Peter Parker's identity crisis. According to him, the film's appeal lies in its attention to the characters' emotions and relationships amidst large-scale action sequences.

Deadline critic Pete Hammond noted that the film brings Spider-Man back to the image of a protector of New York City, focusing on Peter Parker's personal responsibility and inner struggle.

"Audiences follow Spider-Man through a genuine identity crisis. This is a theme that will certainly resonate with the younger generation of viewers who follow the franchise, and it's a smart move to help Spider-Man avoid the pitfalls many other Marvel franchises have faced," he concluded.

Not only is Spider-Man: Brand New Day highly praised for its quality, but it is also expected to have a major box office debut. Initial predictions suggest the film could achieve around $465 million in its global opening weekend.

If it reaches this figure, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will become the second-highest-grossing global opening weekend in Sony history, surpassed only by Spider-Man: No Way Home with $600.5 million.
